Dear Members,
I am pleased to announce a new name has been chosen for the Sports & Social Club. This took a couple of weeks to decide and take into consideration members suggestions, and after going through a great number of new ideas (which I personally thank all those that took the time to put pen to paper), we created a new name that incorporated a lot of what members wanted to see in the name.
Therefore this coming Bank Holiday Weekend we plan on celebrating the launch of the new name. There is still a great deal to be done behind the scenes to carry out this transitional name change and envisage about 3 to 4 weeks of notifying all the relevant authorities, suppliers, organisations, website and email correspondence, new signage, new stationary etc.
All staff will be notified and from this weekend forward the new name will be applied. So without further anticipation I’m pleased to announce the new name as: THE VILLAGE COMMUNITY SPORTS & SOCIAL CLUB
This weekend also sees the launch of the new long awaited Kitchen Menu starting this Friday lunchtime. Hopefully you will appreciate all the hard work that has gone into producing this menu, and you will also see a new name branding for the kitchen: THE VILLAGE BISTRO Again we have listened to members comments, and introduced some new and exciting items, as well as keeping the old favourites. You will also see some healthier options on the menu, along with a fantastic offer “2 Main Meals For £10”. Menus have been professionally created to last and some new equipment purchased in the kitchen to help with the service.
Please be a little considerate to the kitchen staff for the first few days while they adapt to the new menu, cooking times and presentation.
This weekend also sees the start of our monthly carvery’s. This Sunday 2nd May the Restaurant will be open between 12 & 4pm for a walk in carvery for an amazing £5.50 per head.
Also this weekend there’s lots for members to do:

Sunday 2nd May: Free Karaoke Night in the main members bar (& Raffle) from 7pm to late.

BAE Systems Football Team has managed to reach the Kent Cup Final this season which is a fantastic achievement, and they are playing their final this Saturday 2nd May at Lordswood Football Ground. Kick Off is 6pm and tickets can be purchased on the day. Please support your club football team and then join them for a drink back at the Club later on in the evening.
Take That (last years B Fest Act) will be performing live at the Club on stage in the main hall on Friday 14th May. Chris Till (last years B Fest compere & singer, who also appears on TV), will be supporting the band live on stage. Tickets are selling fast now so please purchase your tickets soon to avoid disappointment.

I hope you will join me this weekend in what will be an exciting new chapter in the Clubs Future.
Many Thanks
